Evernote for Salesforce

It’s here!  It was just announced today that Evernote is now on the Salesforce AppExchange.  This has been a common request for many years and received many votes on the Salesforce Idea Exchange.  I am sure that I am not alone is celebrating this integration.  Evernote is a commonly used business app for people taking notes.  Personally, I use it for all my meeting notes but whenever I was done with the meeting I would either copy/paste the notes from Evernote into a Salesforce note or I would print the note as a PDF and upload it to the Opportunity within Salesforce.

With the Evernote to Salesforce integration now those notes can be typed in Evernote and then accessed from Salesforce.  For example, if I have a meeting at Acme Company about helping with their next web development project I would create a note within Evernote titled “Acme Company – Website Meeting”.  Then, within Salesforce I would have an opportunity under the “Acme Company” account called “Acme Company Website Project”.  Now, when I am in the opportunity object of Salesforce I can see those meeting notes from Evernote.

Take a look at this short video that explains it exactly.

But Only for Evernote Business Account

The Evernote to Salesforce integration is only for Evernote Business Accounts.  Because Evernote’s free license is very popular this might be a bit of a let down.  But there might be hope because in today’s press release the CEO of Evernote, Phil Libin, was quoted as saying “We are excited to take this important first step in our partnership with salesforce.com.”  Maybe I am too optimistic in thinking that maybe the second of third step in this long partnership is integration with the free account.  Regardless, I know there are many smiling faces out there and Salesforce Admins are getting ready to install it off the AppExchange.
